A range of Complementary Therapies are offered at the Centre by qualified volunteer therapists. Some therapies are offered at a highly discounted rate.
Massage is a holistic therapy which aims to treat the whole person. The way we feel can often have a physical effect on our body. Massage promotes relaxation and can have a positive effect on both the body and mind.
- Relieving stress & anxiety
- Easing muscular tension, soreness and stiffness
- Increasing energy levels
- Relieving tired, stiff joints
- Aiding sleep
Massage can be given with the client lying down on a couch or sitting up. Some clothing will need to be removed as oil is used on the skin to enhance the effect of the treatment.

Shiatsu is a Japanese touch therapy that can maintain health and wellbeing and is a deeply relaxing treatment. It can help with a wide range of symptoms such as:
- Depression, anxiety, insomnia
- Headaches and migraines
- Back, neck and shoulder pain
- Arthritis and joint problems
- Digestive disorders
A treatmesnt last for about 1 hour with the receiver, fully clothed, lying on a futon on the floor or siting in a chair.
First treatment FREE,
Contribution (minimum £5) requested for subsequent treatments
Harrow Carers are currently offering 2 yoga classes and you can join either or both.
To join in, please contact Harrow Carers to register as a carer. At your first session you will need to fill in a health questionnaire, then you will be issued a yoga card. You will only be able to access further yoga classes if you have your card.
